News about Daday

(Daday is from ECBC and she's now in Kyrgyztan serving as an Eglish teacher.)

On August 12, we welcomed Mr. Sun and his family, my host, from their furlough. Although I have met them before in PBTS when they visited Kyrgyz MITers, it was the first time I met them here.

My goodbye is impending. I am going back to the Philippines tentatively on September 24. They were requesting me to extend, and I would have gladly done so but after thinking about it and seeking His will, I know my decision to go home is what’s best for now. But along with this is the prayer that if it’s HIS will, I hope I can come back early next year and be able to stay longer.

My Concerns:

From the original 10 STMers, only I and Derik will be traveling back together. We will take the route, Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan – Malaysia – Philippines via Uzbek Airways. Taking this itinerary would be helpful to other M’s in the future. My airfare costs $750. I already made reservations but we need to book and pay one week before our departure. Please pray with me as I raise this amount. I need a miracle!

I am preparing English Kits for Beginner Class. I have not made kits in a while and not many materials are available here but I hope I could make enough for a three-month course. This will be very useful for the teacher who will handle the class.

For one month until I go home, I am having two times a week English B. S. Class with John and Joy, my host’s children.

My B. S. Class with my ‘children’ is still on-going. I sometimes worry about who will take care of them when I leave but I know the work will continue even without me.

Last Day of Classes. My students gave me cake and flowers with the message that I should teach them again come September. We also went out for picnic on the same day.
Fellowship with Pinoys. Opposite me are Ate Bernadette and her children. She is married to Kyrgyz and they have been staying here for more than three years. Nurgazi is a Kyrgyz who will get married soon to a Filipina. Ma-An and Rommel are couple who will be working as LTMers this September.

Easy and Cool. On July 31 to August 3, 2007, Korean STMers sponsored and led a 4-day seminar in Issyk Kul. They basically ministered to the center’s Hairstyling students. With Ruth, Joyce, and me, it became an international seminar. Sharing time was very meaningful to me. And of course, going to the beautiful lake everyday was the best bonus we had!

A Walk on the Mountains. One day, Hena just thought of bringing us to the mountains to see and appreciate the beauty of Kyrgyzstan. We did a little hiking, met a few shepherds and had fellowship with them. I could not help but think about David and our Shepherd. One of them was actually shepherding at that time, he even allowed us to ride on his horse and I did for a few minutes just to have the feel of it and enough time to take pictures.
